Roasting in an Electric Frying Pan
By TChangi
The electric frying pan sitting in the kitchen is not just for frying foods and making stews. It is quite surprising to most people, but the electric frying pan can be used to cook a delicious roast. Utilizing your frying pan to roast meats is a straightforward and simple process. Anyone with two hands and a brain can cook a gorgeous roast complimented with vegetables within a matter of hours. Following the instructions presented here will ensure a delectable dinner that’s fit for a restaurant.
Ingredients needed to start this project are: a roast-pick your favorite meat and an appropriate size for the amount of people you are feeding, cooking oil, carrots, broccoli, onions, beef broth, and meat tenderizer. A meat thermometer can come in handy as well, to assess the temperature of the meat.
Place a few spoonfuls of oil in the bottom of the electric frying pan. Warm up the pan to either “high” if you’re cooking with the “high”, “medium”, and “low” settings, and 400 degrees if you have temperature settings. While the electric frying pan is heating up, coat the roast with the herb, spices, seasonings, salt and pepper of choice. Once seasoned, carefully place the roast into the pan, making sure that the roast does not plop into the oil and splatter.
Let the succulent looking roast sit in the pan until browned, then flip the roast to the other side to brown it. Once the roast is browned, grab the beef broth. Pour about two inches of beef broth into the pan to add an abundance of moisture to the roast while cooking. Put a cover on the electric frying pan to seal in the flavors and turn down the temperature to medium or 300 degrees to allow cooking rather than burning.
Keep the roast cooking on medium for about ten minutes, and then add the vegetables that you want to cook with your roast. Carrots, broccoli, onions, and radishes can be added to the roast to absorb the juices while cooking. Creative and colorful vegetables make the roast pretty, and they are also good for the body.
Turn the electric frying pan on low and let simmer for ten more minutes. Then turn the pan off and then let the roast and all the veggies and juices sit for ten minutes. The electric frying pan, the hot roast, and the juices will continue to cook the meat to perfection.
Turn the electric frying pan back on to medium, and cook the roast for about one more hour. At the fifty minute point, open the lid and check the vegetables. If a meat thermometer is available, test the temperature of the roast. If the temperature is 180 degrees, it’s time to eat.
Electric frying pans are underrated, because they have a million different uses, and are rarely used by people for the fabulous food that they can prepare. The assorted sizes and shapes that the electric frying pan is available in grant the cook many different options when it comes to cooking. And, for those times when your stove decides to stop working, or you need to whip up something fast and take it on the run, electric frying pans are the instruments for the job.
